Yes I would enter a manual length, then at that point it would put a plus sign or some sort visual reference that there is a vertical measurement at that point

That could be the case, but I want to be able to select the specific point along the linear where that occurs, in addition, the point would change to like a square or it would tag something like it...

How can that get assigned to a single point along that length? I'm thinking of it as a count takeoff item that I can assign to a point along the linear length.
