How are other users breaking down their QTO since zzTO doesn't have OST's 'Areas' function?
83d 21h
@Stephen this might work for a small job, but I can't imagine doing this for a drawing set that is 300+ pages where a client is requesting the project be broken down into 10+ scope buckets, alterna...
Gray Folder at Project Level Not Working with Custom Properties
84d 21h
@Stephen, this is in relation to project organization in the file explorer, not the reports tab. When I hit 'Open Project' in the top left, I want my projects to be organized by the custom property...
Is there a way to assign Zoom to Fit to a mouse click command?
85d 21h
I have the exact same mouse, and I've ran into the same thought that it would be nice if I could make use of the side scroller with zzTO.
Is there a way to assign Zoom to Fit to a mouse click command?
85d 23h
Another useful tip I'll absorb!
Is there a way to assign Zoom to Fit to a mouse click command?

@Heber, it might also be nice to have a 'Zoom to Window' in the context menu after drawing a selection box. Basically, like using F10 without having to search for the hotkey.
Hyperlink Improvements
88d 23h
I think it would also be nice to be have the possibility of having a transparent shape, like the count's circle, that we can put over a detail callout without a label. Maybe make it so when you hov...
New Update: Hyperlinks, Imperial + Metric Scales, Gray Folders in Pages & Project, Auto Box Mode for Linear, etc.
89d 22h
I love the hyperlink update. Can we have a setting that would allow users to open the hyperlink in a new tab or window?
Selections deselect when holding shift and clicking a blank spot
90d 22h
I've also noticed that when you shift click a single takeoff it does not deselect it, but if you 'green' lasso it, it will deselect it.
Cutout Duplications
91d 22h
Create a new area-type takeoff with the output being 'Section Count'. Right click the cut-outs and 'Convert To...' to the new area takeoff.
'Cut' Functionality?
92d 3h
I am not able to cut/paste. I would like to be able to cut a takeoff from one page/layer and paste it to another. The workaround I do now is copy/paste and then go back and delete. Maybe you're on...
Minor Update: Auto Box Mode for Areas, Width:In, Gray Folders & Views in Quick Search
97d 19h
@James I'm not seeing this on my end. I can only convert area-type takeoffs to area-type takeoffs.
Minor Update: Auto Box Mode for Areas, Width:In, Gray Folders & Views in Quick Search
97d 20h
Tyler, there's a workaround for that. You can create an area measurement and then right click it and 'Duplicate As...' your desired linear takeoff.
Can you sort reports based on multiple columns?
98d 2h
Lorin, Thanks for the 'hold shift' tip. I didn't know that was a possibility. I'm still getting unexpected sorting. Notice below how the sub-division is sorted odd. When I use just the sub-divisi...
Minor Update: Auto Box Mode for Areas, Width:In, Gray Folders & Views in Quick Search
99d 23h
The [Width:In] is awesome! Can you update the sorting logic so that 12" > 8" in the takeoff pane?
Convert to option in the takeoff selection pane
105d 2h
I see this was added. Thank you! When I use the arrow keys and then hit enter it doesn't select the highlighted takeoff, instead it just selects the takeoff at the top of the list.
Is there a way to have one custom property's input automatically update another custom property?
105d 22h
Thanks Heber!
Search Always Visible - Default for ALL
106d 3h
I think it makes sense to have search visible by default. They don't take up much screen real estate, and it’s not exactly obvious they're available unless you've dug through a bunch of videos and ...
Convert to option in the takeoff selection pane
106d 19h
I agree, zzTakeoff is knocking it out of the park with these features. This one in particular, even. I just think they could be tweaked to make them even better. I have a minor annoyance of having ...
Convert to option in the takeoff selection pane
106d 19h
I agree at some point we'll have to accept that zzTakeoff handles things different than OST, but this one feels like it would be quicker because it's slightly less clicks and less fishing through a...
Hensel Phelps Top 7 Feature Requests, Ranked by Order of Priority.
110d 1h
I'll throw in a third for Areas. I used that feature on just about every project in OST.
Add ability to sum like measurements to a 'master' measurement
111d 20h
I've had the same thought, but ultimately I simply don't want to do that. It feels like double work and a slow down to workflow. Plus, it would be annoying to teach to other estimators that ultimat...
Formula in Name Property
111d 22h
@Lorin is there documentation we could look at to help us build our own naming formulas? The syntax of using print and $ft\ & $in\ is not intuitive and I wouldn't have guessed that's what would hav...
Add ability to sum like measurements to a 'master' measurement
111d 23h
I think if you are consistent with the naming of your parts/item, then they should automatically sum for you in the reports. This: Outputs this already:
Add ability to sum like measurements to a 'master' measurement
111d 23h
Yeah, I don't like the usage work around either. I think I'm a bit lower tech than you are- I am simply exporting to my excel template. My current work around is having a manual '0' quantity placeh...
Add ability to sum like measurements to a 'master' measurement
112d 0h
Each paint takeoff has a part/item that shares a common name (e.g. paint) that outputs the area of the takeoff. When you go to an item report it tallies up all the parts/items with the same name in...
