Can I use text with tags to flow down the name? Right now I have to change both of them.

That will have the child inherit the parents name
You can do this via "[..]" like Kory mentioned (pulls parent property), or you can do "[name]" (referencing the property you are in, auto pulls the value from the parent just like "[..]") or "[../name]".

Ok now to add to this question for my quest to get our company down to the item level. This thread above covers the name........ now can I also match the UOM and quantity from from takeoff item measurement 1??
Try [../Parent Name/Qty] should work if it is complex or you can just insert the measurement you want to inherit if it is simple
