I have tried 2 ways to get a result but both have issues, I am trying to combine a selected material with a selected fixing.
If I use a product list, because I have a formula in my cost each and markup, changing the product wipes the formula out.
If I use drop down lists I cannot get the correct title for the item because the dropdown list will only give me the value not the item.
Any way around this? I would prefer to use the product list because it will be easier to update in the future.

Hey Kevin, in this example, I would recommend moving the formula to the product and referencing [sku] and [description] in the item name (if you want to pull the name of the product).
Thanks Lorin
I am trying to create a takeoff that I can select from a list a type of timber, a type of fixing and a difficulty factor so I have created them as 3 items but now I cannot select the product from the takeoff, how should I go about this?
I could do with being able to have several product lists in 1 item so I could select all 3 from the 1
i may have an idea for you on this. can type it all. if you want email jeff@brasfieldconstruction.com. if i understand the question correctly
I had an issue with cost codes and production rates getting wiped out everytime i changed the product. the fix was to make my cost code variable and production rate variable only apply to items and not product

That stopped the madness everytime i changed a product from a product list. hope this helps
Thanks Chris, I will look into that
