Is the Takeoff item the same all the time for this product list?

If so, you can create "Custom Properties" for the parent item to inherit the Cost & Markup % and have the Parent do the math.

Then when you change the product to something else, the parent will inherit the new values.

Hi Shawn is correct. Changing the product IS supposed to change the Cost & Markup. You can set these on the parent with a custom property, and then when you reference them here they will be available on the item for calculation.

Thanks for all the input guys. We've had discussions the las few days about this. Some users expect it to overwrite cost each and markup, while others don't. Eventually it will be a setting so you can control which properties you want to pull from the product (or any list for that matter) when you choose from the dropdown. Eventually you could build any list (not just products) with specific properties in it, and choose which of those properties you want to pull in when you choose it.
