Within the takoff property, can you add a measurement option to allow to measure the length of a segment? I see there an option for counting the segments, could there be an option to also show the length of each segment. I would use this for measuring fixtures that are L-shaped.
maybe I'm not understanding but I think you can kind of do this already. If you use the segment tool to trace an L shape then mouse over the segment on one of the legs it will tell you the measurement of just that segment, without including the other leg of the L. In the take off window on the right it still totals both segments together though.
Linear tool seems to have the exact same function if you just right click when you get to a corner and chose "section". I'm not sure what the difference is between that and using the segment tool. seems to be the same thing to me.
I want to be able to have that come out on my report. So when I go to request quote, I can tell them its L-Shaped 6'x8' without thinking about it or clicking on the takeoff, Its right there on the report Segment 1 is X' Length, Segment 2 is X' Length, so and so forth.
Hi you can show these but they will likely mess up your report grouping. For example, on the Reports tab under the section "Advanced Takeoff Reports" click "Grouped By Page", then click Options at the top, then click the dropdown "Default Expand To" and set its value to All. I don't think this is EXACTLY what you want, but I'm trying to show you some features we DO have that are related to what you are asking.
Your showing as a count, I want to know the length of the segment. I can add another measurement type to the takeoff, but segment only option is EA, if segment option for an additional measurement can be length also.
This appears to not be a count, but is a segment, and the length of the selected segment is 179.62 , EA is an option of Units 1 that can be changed easily.
I'm talking about when running a linear length, it will note the qty of segments, but it does not indicate the length of the segement, this looks like you use segement tool, I'll see if the segment tool gives me what I need and then those type of fixture will be counted as segements, but my issue will be sections, I want to know that this is 1 fixture run that has different segments at different lengths.
This does not work, the segment tool only lets me do 1 run, I cant make it continuous like with the linear tool
