Expand Sorting Logic to Include Fractions
70d 0h
Just to add context, I experimented with true fractional characters (⅛, ¼, ⅜, ½, etc.) but it didn’t improve the sort order. Feels like the sizes are being sorted as text instead of numeric values,...
Feature Request - Patterns for Area Takeoffs
75d 11h
I'd like to see a dimensional aspect to the pattern request so you can visualize the size of the material its meant to represent. a simple line break or box size at a set dimension would be amazing.
Is there a way to utlize both metric and imperial scale within the same project?
75d 17h
Yes I’m glad we have both options to change this inside a project as welI. I just think when possible it’s safest / cleaner to choose the UOM you want to use in takeoffs at the project level. ther...
Is there a way to utlize both metric and imperial scale within the same project?
75d 23h
Stephen, I’m not sure if it is that simple. I believe the choice you make at the project level is what determines the default measurements for the takeoffs you start. you could do this, but I thin...
PDF Drawing Search Adventure

Yes starts with is helpful. for example:heat trace is expensive if I search heat trace I’ll miss heat tracing so I search for heat trac
Is there a way to utlize both metric and imperial scale within the same project?
76d 16h
@Kyle This is mostly solved now. If you go hybrid and start mixing units inside takeoff, you just need to be mindful of how the items and templates were originally built and how you’re using the cu...
Dynamic Margin-to-Markup Conversion
81d 23h
actually I know you can batch edit cost each even switch to formula mode within reports tab, I assume you could do the same with markup% , it won’t update your lists but you can use it if you’re f...
Turn search results into annotations
82d 16h
i really like this. I also was thinking it would be great to be able to customize your own dropdown list of frequently searched terms. i
Dynamic Margin-to-Markup Conversion
82d 16h
I have been using reports tab to improve my templates because im finding it faster to edit them as takeoffs then save them as new templates. Looking forward to having the ability to open up existin...

You're a wizard Sam. Is there a way to batch insert a formula into your items or do you have to open each one individually so you can enable formula mode?
zzTakeoff Mission statement?
82d 17h
We believe the best software is built by listening. zzTakeoff turns real customer feedback into serious, surprisingly fun takeoff and collaboration.
Ready to Test: Hyperlinks, Imperial + Metric Scales, Gray Folders in Pages & Project, Auto Box Mode for Linear, etc.
82d 17h
also would be very useful to make a check box to auto add a hyperlink back from where you came
Reverse Detail Lookup
82d 23h
@justin for now you can make them searchable in another software before uploading to zz. PDF xchange has a free for life version that works great
Add Functionality to the 'N' hotkey: New Section of Last Activated and/or Selected Takeoff
83d 10h
also N doesn't work for mewhen OCR search is open
Group By Folders in Left Pane - Project Pages
83d 17h
Another idea would be a breakout management tool that we could use after completing a takeoff. For example, allow us to define and label all breakout areas up front. Then we could select Pages, Item...
Dark Mode - Make Default for new users
83d 17h

Variable in Wall Name/Description that's not in the Formula
84d 0h
did you select a linear with wall height at the takeoff level? it wont work on flat linear
Report for Labor Durations
85d 10h
Are those takeoffs separate from one another in the takeoff window? if they are I don't think they can group together in the reports. My understanding is like named items will group together but no...
Report for Labor Durations
85d 13h
I think the confusion is that the takeoff doesn’t need to be in the group-by at all here. The report should be able to roll those hours up by WBS independently. Just summarizing output differently.
Report for Labor Durations
85d 13h
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you. Sorry if I’m putting you through a loop
Report for Labor Durations

Report for Labor Durations

In your situation l, try putting your wbs category before cost type
