Right Click Menu
549d 0h
I appreciate the effort to save clicks by keeping more of the transformations on the mini toolbar, but I am more interested in these manipulations being hotkeyed during operation so I can cycle thr...
Right Click Menu
549d 14h
In the last preview of the right-click menu I would combine all the move and orientation actions into one “adjust” or “transform” or whatever action that prompts the “handle“ and mini tool bar from...
Collecting Input: Copy / Paste
550d 1h
After pasting, you could just display the “handle” from the other thread and show 2 options: rotate or flip. These 2 options could then be hotkeyed during this action to give you tetris-like contro...
Collecting Input: Experimenting with "Move Handle" at the center of selected items
550d 1h
I don’t mind it. Looks like a good way to “handle” things on a touchscreen.
Blueprint Tab
550d 15h
Jes, The elegance of the overlay concept is that you don’t have to copy/paste anything when switching to a revised plan. You don’t move the tracing paper; you move/remove/add the plan underneath th...
Blueprint Tab
551d 0h
I think the side-by-side is interesting, but I don’t know how useful it would be for my workflow. Personally I’d prefer to compare revised plans to my takeoffs first and then to the previous plans ...
Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages
551d 2h
Here is a brief concept video of me tracing down some point loads to the foundation. This would work just as well if I was making revisions with a revised plan. Notice also that this shows takeoffs...
AI and Folders
551d 3h
Would this be like adding a work breakdown structure to the takeoff?
Collecting Input: Copy / Paste
551d 11h
If copying and pasting from/to different blueprint pages, then absolutely yes the items should follow the scale of the destination page. However, in the case using “overlays” for takeoffs instead o...
Count/Linear/Area dropping into Folders
551d 16h
This is where “Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages” begins to show its advantages: Any takeoff done on the current overlay is by definition on that overlay—which acts like a folder! No need for c...
Slim Down version of zzTakeoffs for redlines
551d 16h
I think this is an area where the plan tab (blueprint tab) may shine. Everything you need for redlines could be part of the plan tab at a base rate and would be fully functional without the takeoff...
Blueprint Tab
551d 16h
I agree with Heber on the tab name, except that it should be “Plan”—in keeping with the idea that this is where you plan before you takeoff. Make each tab a verb, suggesting the action to be perfor...
Blueprint Tab
552d 0h
I don’t think I care for the large thumbnails. I would prefer a tree of folders by page type > pages > drawings, notes and markups…maybe a means bookmarking which pages/drawings are most relevant. ...
Blueprint Tab
552d 15h
3. The way I usually work, I will have takeoff software open on one monitor with only the pages I need to perform the required takeoffs. On a second monitor, I will have a pdf viewer with the compl...

Hi Sam, 1. See “Takeoffs On Overlays instead of Pages” https://www.zztakeoff.com/app/default-workspace/community?postId=Y2omYrvWa4NpyE5cg&channel=feature-requests I will get back to you on 2 and 3.

Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages
554d 0h
On an overlay (which functions as a folder of sorts) you could have a folder for takeoffs and a folder for markups/notes. You could then easily hide all markups via the right click method.
Multiplier for a page

Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages
554d 0h
If you had dozens of levels with the same layout or similar layouts you could simply copy the entire overlay and takeoffs to different levels. Then you could edit anything that might be different.
Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages
554d 0h
To put it simply, this is like doing your takeoffs on a transparent blank page “overlaying” your blueprint. (Bumping this since it may address recent requests.)
Copying & pasting objects
566d 16h
In addition to this, when copying and pasting takeoff items, can we make it simple to understand where the pasted items will land and how they will align so that when a whole mess of items is paste...
Snap Through a Point
568d 2h
It is not uncommon for me to receive a print with no roof plan. Therefore I have to draw my own roof plan using whatever information is available. Often a valley rafter needs to extend to the main ...
Snap Through a Point
568d 2h
Draw two points anywhere. The goal is to start at one point and draw a line through the second point (or anywhere in-line with the second point) such that the endpoint of the line is not coincident...
Polar Mode?
568d 16h
Looks good. It remains to be seen how well it works in the corner when using a large screen, but generally I prefer everything to be out of the way anyway. Thanks!
Polar Mode?
568d 22h
In addition to this can we show the current angle before we drop a second point. At the bottom left it shows the coordinates....Perhaps it would be useful to show the current "polar coordinates" o...
