Hey, y'all. Recently joined the estimation trade. This website has been awesome so far, and I've been really enjoying getting to use it and learning how to use it better (including advanced features such as the custom properties).
I did notice that there seems to be some Ediphi related custom properties. I don't remember adding them, and I'm uncertain if they were there to begin with. Googling the website gave me some information, but I don't really have the greatest "big picture" understanding of the industry as a whole given my lack of experience both at the desk and in field.
What is Ediphi about? What is their biggest selling point feature? Would using said software be a total game changer? Etc.
And, after all that, how does it work with zztakeoff?
Thanks for y'all's time with this. If you could keep it more "layman's terms", that'd be awesome. I'm still learning a lot of the more industry specific vocabulary.
Great question! I am sure Kyle Bonde will chime in as he is pretty much the industry expert on Pre-con software and practices.
I hear great things about Ediphi and know that they are on the cutting edge of Pre-construction software using AI.
HA thx Todd, guess I'm the local ediphi nerd too. In a sentence zzTakeoff is the final quantities, Ediphi is the initial quantities and the final estimate for GC's.
Depends what you are trying to do and what stage of drawings you typically bid. Ediphi does great starting at concept/napkin all the way to detail GMP estimates. It helps forecast quantities till we can actually measure them in zz along with a great reporting tool. There is not a good integration yet, but it's shaping up to be a few months out tho. Quantities flow to the estimate.
You can do estimating "light" in zzTakeoff.....if you need more robust estimating setup then look into Ediphi or Bidbow.
