what is the best way to Duplicate or multiply a takeoff? like if we know theres 4 buildings whats the best way to multiply those takeoffs by 4. instead of copy and pasting 4 times.
Hi, you can convert the Takeoff to an item and then add:
* 4
to the end of the formula. That's an easy way to do it one off.
How do you do this without a formula. The key to a good set up is you never touch the formula while working. Everything is preset. Where is the easy button for this option?
while thinking then i created a custom filed thats named Mulitple Buildings/Takeoffs and made it required. it took a minute to go edit the item formulas but it seems to be the best option for now

Good idea! This tool is crazy flexible...now imagine if you had 200 estimators working in your environment and everyone kept adding custom fields.......yeah thats our problem right now......sad face.

lol that woulbe be a problem but at some point got to lay down our foot and set a standard. is what im thinking. but im the only one that edits and adds stuff
The standers needs to be and will become simple options built into the software that gives you click and select options. Think of it like needing to go into your IPhone and creating a special code to use caps vs clicking a button that changes your font to caps.
