Site Wireframe & Reference Names

Just curious if there's a way to understand/know what/how the wireframe outlines, names, of zzTakeoff site areas/windows are referenced for easier communications on the zz community forums as well as internally with my company?

Hi, I don't think we have a lexicon of all terms but lets start one!

Main User Interface Areas (Wireframe)

  • Drawing Area (Viewport): The central area where plans are displayed, zoomed, and panned.
  • Takeoff Item Sidebar (Right Panel): Where takeoff items (material, labor, equipment) are listed, managed, and created.
  • Tree View / Page Navigator (Left Panel): Displays the imported plan set, allowing users to switch between pages.
  • Properties/Properties Pane: Located generally in the right panel, it allows for setting dimensions, slopes, and naming conditions.
  • Top Menu/Toolbar: Contains tools for scaling, AI-driven page renaming, and project-level actions.

Key Terminology for Communication

  • Takeoff Item: The definition of what you are measuring (e.g., "18x18 Tile" or "Concrete Slab") listed in the right sidebar.
  • Takeoff Measurement (or "Section"): The actual colored markup drawn on the plan (the polygon or line).
  • Assembly/Template: Pre-defined groups of items and formulas.
