List sorting

Hi, I’m trying to gain some understanding of how lists are automatically sorted. It’s definitely not in the order that I add them , at least not when I batch import.

i am getting some very jumbled lists. for context these are mechanical pipe sizes and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the order they get sorted can we add some logic for sorting numbers chronologically in lists?
