if statement formula help

I am trying to create a formula to figure my window/door headers & misc. beams while we wait for the beam & joist/rafter tool to come out (hopefully soon...?). While the estimating software that we are switching from is very old/outdated, it did exactly what you needed it to do without all the fancy stuff. For example when doing a takeoff on the headers, we would use our point & click digitizer puck on our paper blueprint and take the LF of the window or door opening. Based on the size of the opening (far left column in the picture is refering to the size of the openings, so 0' to 3', 3' to 4' and so on) and it would generate our headers depending on the width and the number of plys that we input. We could change the "Plys" box and set it to whatever ply we needed and it would give us the correct number of headers reflecting the plys.

I was wondering if it would be possible to create an 'if" formula replicating this. So for example, if the segmented LF that we measure on zztakeoff is greater than 0' but less than or equal to 3' then it would generate a header qty depending on the product that I want to use whether it is dimensional lumber or engineered lumber.

I'm not even sure if this is something that can be done within zztakeoff but I figured I'd ask to see if someone has tried doing something similar.

Hi Jon I emailed and texted you for a zoom mtg... Never heard back from you.

I will make a YT video and post my answer there.

@todd Sorry for the confusion, I responded to your text earlier asking if we could set a zoom meeting up for tomorrow but I wonder if you didn't receive it. However, a youtube video will work tremendously nonetheless!
