Filling cutout

Completed

Is there a way to auto-fill a cutout of an area with a different area condition? This would be useful in ceiling & flooring takeoff applications.

Hi Tim 🙂

We don't have the ability to do this yet, but we will be sure to get it in the software soon. For now, if snapping is on that will at least help to draw the shape as a new takeoff, but I can see how your request will be a big time saver.

I made a request for this a while back, but like Heber mentioned, using snap helps deal with this pretty quickly.

It would be a cool feature to have though

This is a feature requested by a large company we are under NDA with.

We had a user just ask this

I just realized that I think the latest update can do this now.

After you perform a cutout, right click on the cutout and then click on the new Duplicate As... feature, then either click New Area to create a new area takeoff to fill in the cutout, or find a prior area takeoffs you want auto-filled in the cutout area.

yep that is correct!

Just used it today. Mark this one as completed!
