Some roofing Projects will use an outsourced drone company, such as, EagleView that gives all the quantities. The plan is to have all the assemblies, or builds already in ZZT for all the components. But since I would not necessarily be doing takeoffs in the normal sense, I still want to use the formulas I have built. Perhaps I click on the item I would normally takeoff, and have an option to enter the quantity? Has anything like this been considered yet?
You can see my project called Eagleview for reference.
Hi Mark! Sorry for the delay responding to this. We've had some discussion on how to do this. Maybe there is some kind of a toggle between "Formula" or "Manual Entry" for quantities of an item. We've also discussed ways to "adjust" a quantity that may be derived from a formula. We could maybe even allow the same type of idea for the takeoff itself, such as an area, linear, count. So maybe you can add an area and you can toggle to "Manual" mode to enter the square footage, etc. Then you could apply items & assemblies in the same way you would to an area that you measured by clicking points. So I agree, it would be great to have ways to override these things.
