Any ideas why some folders have dropdowns and some don't in quicksearch? All of them in the image should have them

Hey Kevin, the reason why some folders don't have the expand/collapse caret is that we are filtering to "takeoffs" only in the quick search. The reasoning behind this was to allow users to quickly click and go from takeoffs/templates. For your use case, would you want an option to see the items in the quick search?
Thanks Lorin,
Is there any advantage to having templates as takeoffs rather than items? I have tried both ways and using takeoffs for assembly's and items if it is just one item, The issue I see if having everything as a takeoff is it is more difficult to change rates types and names as you have to go down a level.
I guess it depends on your use case. @Todd probably knows more than me on this, but we recommend the takeoff and item combination if what you are taking off is a 1-1 relationship. For example, if you are counting lights, and the takeoff is also the item/product. Otherwise, we recommend assemblies if the takeoff is treated as a measurement and you are deriving items/quantities from the takeoff measurements.
What exactly are you trying to use the quick search for? Are you trying to start a takeoff from those items? If those items were takeoff & item combos, they would show up because we could start a takeoff from them.
I was just seeing how it worked, I dont need to do it that way but still finding my feet with the best way of doing everything.
I think i'm ok with how I am doing things but its good to check incase I'm missing out on something I may find useful.
