Adding points to an existing takeoff perimeter to create a new line segment

During the takeoff process I occasionally include something like a supporting beam that I want to cutout without leaving anything on the outside of the area. IS there a way to add end points in the middle of a line to create a new line segment so i can drag the points to make a new boundary in a takeoff?

Hi! I'm not sure if I understand your question. I am able to put my mouse on the segment I want to add a point and line up the crosshairs so it is in the middle of the handle in the center of the area that allows dragging (looks like a + ). Then I can double click on the segment of the area, and this add a new point on the area. Now I can draw new linears from this point to create new takeoffs that start at the center point of an area's line. Is this what you were looking for?
