Love the "share with everyone" link that you can shoot to ANYONE and they can see the drawings/takeoff without a license! I've sent it to about 5 other competing GC's and to many of our internal folks.
I know we are strict on not allowing a "ANYONE" link with any tool, please remove the ANYONE option but can still send to anyone if they have the password. Add & require password to the share with anyone button is my suggestion. (Low priority, but will likely be a requirement if we move forward as a enterprise tool)
More importantly there needs to be better transparency on what layer you are sharing with the "share with everyone". Make this more intuitive, ideally with a drop down next to the share with everyone button.
This is exactly the type of feedback we have been hoping to get on this feature. Thank you Kyle! That's awesome you would be willing to share the products you are interested in with competing GC's. You're using the 'share button on the takeoff tab, in the upper right to share right? Are you able to change permission levels on the users who joined the plan? Thank you for sharing and thank you for the suggestions. These are now under review.
Yes and yes to your questions, works as expected with sharing with others when you invite a email. I can foresee more control with permissions in future, but don't really care about that right now, as its more important to share with our team internally in multi player mode.
Agree here - good call! I agree also on tranparency of what layers you're sharing - maybe being able to create a "template" for sharing with pre-set layers would be good. We don't want to include any cost information - so also not just layers but of columns too we want to keep internal
Good feedback. Does anyone have a need for multiple "anyone with link" sharing URL's with a different layer per link, or do most users just want a single layer for all the people that have the link to view? I anticipate it could be useful to add more links, but just checking to see any additional input in this area.
I would like the ability to share a link to someone on the field that locks them into a certain layer (for example, one that shows no takeoff data on it)
@Heber
For our internal people I would share everything with my team, with a big disclaimer that I would want to guide them to the default starting layer that they open up, even down to the page that they land on when I send it to them. Now that is the 70% of the time that works, to get to the next level of the other 30% I would like to do a "check box" style layer sharing, where you check the boxes you are intending to share, for example perhaps I only want to send my project managers a clean layer with just the structural takeoff before the concrete review for example. Moving into the future I can see this being highly useful for sharing with our trade partners and suppliers that this workflow would also work with for sharing.
