Request to Allow Quantity Adjustment at Report Level

Under Review

Hi Team,

Would it be possible to introduce an option to adjust the quantity of an item at the report level?

This would be very beneficial when dealing with items that have the same name, as they already appear as a single consolidated line in the report, which is a huge benefit already. Thank you for that.

Being able to modify the total quantity at that Report level would save having to go back into Takeoff mode and adjust each individual item one by one, especially in cases where a quantity mistake has been identified.

As always, thanks in advance for considering this.

hey steve depending on your situation.

what about exposing the item level formula column? if formula is same for all items you can mass adjust formula.

also you can adjust waste and round to nearest in the same fashion.

you can also utilize custom properties to break these up a little if you have a few different formulas calculation methods.

i like the idea though as well, to just override in reports and create a new total for an item and move on.

i also had a feature request previously to be able to round up to nearest at the combined item level as seen in item reports rather than each takeoff not sure how to word that..

Thanks for the feature request/input, guys. Would you expect the adjustment to only apply to that specific report view, or would you expect it to adjust each item?

@Luke, for your feature request, we are planning to add computed columns to reports to compute values specific to the reports and their groupings. So if you wanted to round the quantity based on your report grouping, you could create a computed column that rounds at each grouping level, etc.

@Lorin

Thanks for getting back to me.

Ideally, I think it would be best if, once the adjustment is changed, it would then flow through and update across all reports automatically, without needing to go back.

At the same time, it would be very helpful if the original estimated amount remained saved within the system, with a visible history showing who made the change, along with the date and time it was modified, similar to how WinEst and some other estimating platforms handle revisions. That way, users could always go back and review the previous estimate if needed.

Thanks again for considering the idea.
