Hi All,
I have had a couple of requests this week from our users and they asked me to put this in the community feature request again.
If you were to select a number between 1 and 10, with 10 being the most important feature request and 0 for we can wait for a long time.
How important is it to you to have the ability to update pricing in our product lists from an external list or database and have the changes show in the templates?
I know the dev team has this on their list of to do's already and it will be amazing, just wanted to get a pulse test on this feature!
Thanks everyone
Completed
DONE - SSO — getting into zzTakeoff needs to be easy and frictionless
DONE - Detail Hyperlinks - navigate drawings like a boss!
Still Needed:
1. Project organization (highest priority)
Today: one project = one takeoff. Real life (negotiated work): one project → many takeoffs across design stages. Need ability to house multiple takeoffs inside a single project and organize by design stage / progress package. Along with making fields required when starting new jobs.
2. Breakouts after takeoff is completed
Allow creating/editing breakouts without duplicating takeoff items. Different section properties (aka areas in OST)
3. Reports / Templates / Enterprise controls... new
Right now anyone in our company can add things enterprise wide.......not good.
4. Integration with estimating tools / API... new
Bidbow, Ediphi, next gen tool we might find.
5. External pricing list / database sync... new
Ability to update pricing in product lists from an external list or database and have the changes reflect in templates automatically. (this thread)
6 "Gray folders" in drawing sets on left pane
Auto-sort drawings by discipline (Architectural, Structural, Civil, etc.). Also add a custom sort (example Building A, B, C…). Also can filter out drawings too......why do I care about MEP, for example.
Going to say I'm more at a 0 (zero) for this priority.
I look to ZZ for the following currently (in order of priorties):
I haven't found a place (yet) where I can rely on $ from ZZ.
There's just too much going on with internal backend spreadsheets/data priorities that are baked in or established (this is the case for last 3 companies over the last decade)
If any of the following situations were true for my role I'd certainly rely on estimating $ from ZZ easier:
Not sure if this helps
As is, my priorities/needs are different and I can easily plug in off-the-cuff $
10 = Batch Edit In Place Product Lists
*The capability to batch edit Product Lists without breaking references to the many templates it is referenced in is very important. A small revision can cause a tremendous amount of work re-linking all my templates. I am hesitant to build all the templates I need for my company without a method to mass edit Lists.
