Hi,
Adding a link by highlighting over the detail, then using the same type of AI Feature workflow for naming pages (perhaps) be able to provide a link to that detail number/page wherever that detail reference is shown.
Bluebeam already handles this wonderfully and in an automated way, so this request would bring it on par—and honestly, make it even simpler to set up in one tool.
One feature i've always wished for is when you navigate to detail 2/A8-421 on the detail sheet, you could also see all the other pages where that same section is called out. A reversible link from the detail to every referenced plan sheet. Bi-directional links would finally give me a valid excuse to break out the spandex and sing a song!
Awesome. Good feedback. We have to do it, because we must see Kyle sing another song in spandex! This is the way!
I believe Stack also has a similar feature that will find all the section details and link them.
I would like to see functionality like this taken a step further and provide the option to have that section detail literally pop up over the plans when I hover my mouse over the detail for long enough so that I don't even have to switch pages.
Or you could just play it safe and generate a popup window that the user can drag around and close out of as they please.
The more work I can do straight off the floor plans without shuffling through pages the better
If that was optional I would agree. Being browser based it might have to be that way. Unless you have the typical browser option to open in new tab or new window. The latter being my preference so I can see the detail full screen on my other monitor. Then. Allow all the tools to be available so I can markup, scale, or anything else I might need.
Jes/Mark,
This navigational concern was precisely the point of having general blueprint study, manipulation, and navigation relegated to a Blueprint Tab. This way, you never leave what you are working on (takeoffs) and you always have access to all the details/references that you are looking for…especially if you want it to be bidirectional as Kyle suggests. Additionally, most of the links/buttons for performing these operations would also be relegated to the blueprint tab, further simplifying the takeoff screen.
