Orientations and/or Takeoff Dimensions

Would it be possible to designate an orientation on an elevation page such that 2-D takeoffs on said page have basic orientation as well?

For example, let’s say there is no window schedule and no indication of window sizes on the plan. Looking at the front elevation page, one could add a little compass to the corner of the page indicating that UP is towards the top of the page. Using an area, one could trace a window using box mode, and the corresponding data would indicate that the top and bottom of the window are 3ft each and the sides are 5ft each. So now we can specify a window size and apply top, bottom, and side trims for both interior and exterior trim. A label could also be applied stating the windows dimensions 3’-0”x5’-0”.

If this is not feasible, perhaps just being able to toggle the visibility of the dimensions (distance between points) of a takeoff would suffice.
