Would it be possible to have Custom Properties with an option to select which of our libraries it applies to, rather than applying to all? Or, is this something the future scripting tool will allow us to perform?
Thanks for all you do!

Hi Mike! We do have plans to make some way that custom properties can be applied to specific template libraries. Just to make sure I fully understand, is this so that you can apply different properties to Sq Footage templates vs Templates that have items?
Are we talking about conditional formatting!? yes please!
have one custom property govern the choices in dropdown for another.
An example i would like to be able to do.
if i choose for custom property [task] say im selecting pipe vs duct
another custom property [system] only pipe systems show
as options in the dropdown and duct systems when I choose duct
bonus points if I can have takeoff color governed by this selection 😉
That would be one way but I really mean something more comprehensive. What I am thinking is (I will use OUR use case as an example), we have different types of takeoffs we perform and we separate our templates into different libraries and folders withing those libraries. Even though we can hide Custom Properties by default, once unhidden, they are visible across all libraries and eliminating any added information noise further eliminates the possibility of improperly selecting a property in the wrong library and at the very least it speeds up the takeoff process because the user has less to scan when ensuring accurate fields have been selected.
