Copying & pasting objects

Yes, the copy/paste function is much needed. Would love to recommend this software to others once it has basic features like these.

In addition to this, when copying and pasting takeoff items, can we make it simple to understand where the pasted items will land and how they will align so that when a whole mess of items is pasted we won’t have to align them manually afterward? Perhaps the the language of geometric transformations would be useful here: translation of a point, reflection about a line and rotation about a point?

In the case of mirrored dwelling units, a reflection about the party/demising wall would be very handy.

Great news! Copy and paste functionality is now fully implemented in our latest update, including several features that address the alignment concerns mentioned.

Here's what's available:

1. Basic Copy/Paste:

• Use CTRL + C to copy and CTRL + V to paste
• Or use the right-click menu's Copy/Paste options

2. Post-Paste Positioning Tools: After pasting, you'll get immediate access to a toolbar with options for:

• Move
• Rotate Left
• Rotate Right
• Flip Horizontal
• Flip Vertical

These same options are also available in the right-click menu for further adjustments.

3. Precise Positioning:

• Use the new move handle to click and drag items exactly where you need them
• Works on both desktop and mobile/tablet devices

This implementation aims to make the positioning of pasted items more intuitive and give you full control over their placement and orientation. The addition of flip options is particularly useful for mirrored dwelling units, as mentioned.
