Convert vs. Reassign Objects Function

If I understand correctly, what is being requested is essentially a “Replace All” function for takeoff conditions.

Right now in ZZTakeoff, if you accidentally used the wrong condition/item, you can only convert it one page at a time.

Example:

You did takeoff using:

• “100mm Slab – SL82 wire mesh”

But later realise it should have been:

• “125mm Slab – SL92 wire mesh”

At the moment, ZZ lets you convert/change it page by page only.

So if that condition exists on:

• Page 1
• Page 2
• Page 3
• Page 10

you have to manually convert each page separately.

What is requested:

• Right click the condition
• Choose something like “Convert All” or “Reassign Objects”
• Select the new condition
• ZZ changes EVERY takeoff tied to that condition across the whole project automatically

So:

ALL “100mm Slab – SL82”

becomes

ALL “125mm Slab – SL92”

without losing the measured quantities.

When the mentioning of OST “Reassign Objects”, they are referring to On-Screen Takeoff functionality where you can globally reassign all takeoff objects from one condition to another in one action.

This would be extremely useful in ZZTakeoff if:

• you picked the wrong assembly
• changed slab thickness
• changed reinforcement type
• changed concrete strength
• renamed scopes
• duplicated a condition incorrectly
• imported wrong templates

Instead of redoing takeoff or converting page by page, it would update the whole project at once.
