Feature RequestsColor Choice "Lock"
I like to use the same color for an entire piping system and fittings. My main water line is dark blue and all the fittings, valves, etc. are the same color. Just makes it easier to see on the page and reports what belongs in what system. Having to choose a color every time I choose a different fitting or valve just slows my process down. It would be much easier if I could choose one color, work the entire system and then change the color when I am done with that system.
So can an option be made to "Lock" my color choice until I change it?
Hey Steve, thanks for the feature request! Right now, the easiest way to accomplish this would be to set up your templates with the color pre-selected.
We are discussing internally about a way to inherit the color to child takeoffs, so you could choose the color once on the pipe, then put all your fittings/values, etc. underneath, and they would automatically inherit the same color as the pipe.
Thanks for the suggestion. It is not necessarily that I want a preselected color, just that I would like the ability to use the same exact color for everything on that line regardless of what it is. I would have to set up a template for every single combination possibility before it would save time. There are to many pipe, fitting, valve and accessory combinations. Since I already have to pick each item I need, not having to change the color for every different item is what would make it faster.
I would like this too. My suggestion is to allow a custom property to drive the color selection. If I change the property name the assigned color changes automatically
Exactly, just a box to check or uncheck and how you want colors presented.
