Batch Import Takeoff - From AI Scope Generation Tool

Under Review

As we move closer to have AI generate scope for us (then the estimator quantifies the drawings) We need to allow more flexibility for batch import. For example if we did have AI generate the scope of a slab on grade we need more columns to be exposed. We need the "measurement type" and "Depth" exposed so we can start generating custom templates for individual projects.

Same thing at the item level........and in the future can't wait to transfer formulas into this puppy and exchange formulas from estimating tool to takeoff tool and vice versa.

Or perhaps the workflow is.........AI generates the scope, then picks from the templates in zzTakeoff that are pre-defined. Not sure what will work the best.

Great idea Kyle! I have shared this with the dev team.

Kyle - what do you mean by "AI generate scope for us"? Are you pulling that from historical projects?

Kyle Bonde - Vertical GC 16d 1h

Nope, drop drawings into chat GPT and ask it for all the landscaping scope that I need to quantify. Bam it will give you all the line items you need to measure all formatted nicely for you that you can paste right into zzTO to setup your job specific template. Take that and now ask it to do all scopes, it will do it.

Now thats just what little old me can do right now....put a few nerds in a room and imagine what they could do!

I have been looking at other AI assisted apps and honestly am not that impressed. I built my own agent for Concrete Takeoffs (for example) I will add all of my concrete takoffs, sheets, data, etc in it. I want it to learn how I do my takeoffs, from startup to completion. Same for flooring if i have a flooring customer(s), etc. The chat on the project is indeed helpful, But just imagine an overall arching chat...."this is another autozone, set it up accordingly", etc.

And i also run an AI planchecker that highlights collisions, issues, etc that is priceless. Incorporating that through an API would be golden...

That sounds amazing Mark! I'd love to see the accuracy results you are getting vs manual takeoff. I've been evaluating many tools and I'm not that impressed with the auto results I have been getting. Are you able to share any specifics of what tools, models, libraries you tested and the results you were getting?

@Stephen, I just started this week. So I dont have a lot of data yet, but so far it is making sense. What would be INCREDIBLE is to have it IN ZZT. And, what if, you could indicate what data goes into a "public" Agent for ZZT...The meta data would be amzing to see, but for a user, you could have immediate access to all sorts of best practices...maybe even for a small fee it would be worth it! ;{)

I just realized we can import formulas into zzTO via excel/clipboard at the item level! Now we need more columns for the takeoff level like Maeasurement type and depth for a coupel examples.
