group by not sorting correctly. also won't let me multi select and change the property in my takeoff sidebar. the takeoff property is showing correctly in my name tag is correct and the column is correct but for some reason it breaks with SORT BY
Hey Luke, thanks for reporting. Are you utilizing section-level properties and overriding "system" at the section level?
no, I have some section level properties, but they are not related to this property. The section properties i have made are stand alone properties for breakout purposes.
Hey Luke, I dug into this, and it looks like there may be a conflict between your takeoff level properties and item properties. Are you setting the "SYSTEM" property at the item level as well as the takeoff?
i think you're right. Im not sure how i did it but i messed up my items a bit i didnt have the items selected for the custom property and i assumed without having items set for the property that it would inherit to items by default. i also created an other type item within my templates with the tag [system] so i could utilize auto name but i think it broke something.
im guessing the fix is to add items to the custom property and set default to inherit. then manually change all item properties within my existing templates to inherit?
The properties from the takeoffs should automatically inherit down to the items without you applying the custom properties to the items. The exception to this is if the property exists on the item (even if it's not applied). I would recommend going through your items and clearing out any properties in the "Additional" group.
Also, the tag "[system]" should work for the items because the system is auto-inherited down from the takeoff (if you don't apply the property to items & it doesn't exist).
