Converting Items & Highlighting the item in the takeoff pane & page pane - This is a job that I imported from PS

Completed

I have "children" as part of the takeoff in PS. When it comes across in zz, the program recognizes it as a different item in the pages menu, but on the planview/takeoff pane, it does not. Also, when I select the item, I would expect to see it be "drilled" to and selected on both the takeoff pane and the page pane. It does select it on the takeoff pane, but not the page pane.

Hi Justin, The left Pages view and the Takeoff right sidebar serve distinct purposes and present data differently. The Pages sidebar allows you to modify the view type to adjust your data organization preferences, whereas the Takeoff sidebar reflects the precise hierarchy and order of your project items, takeoffs, and assemblies. While the Pages sidebar does indicate the currently selected takeoff, it does so only at the section level. You can expand your takeoffs within the Pages sidebar to view individual sections, where a dot displayed to the right of the section name identifies the currently selected section on the page. In our application, we intentionally minimize the distinction between sections, takeoffs, and pages to simplify the user experience. As a result, these two sidebars serve separate functional goals. Although their display can be configured via the dropdown options to appear nearly identical, subtle organizational differences will remain due to the underlying architectural distinctions between them.

I understand the difference between the views. For the count item shown, why does it display as a count item on the page view, but it is part of the linear item on the takeoff side? I'm guessing because of the PS import, but I wanted to clarify.

Thanks for reporting. That looks like a bug with our PS import. I'll relay it to the team.

Hi Justin, would you be able to share this PS job with us? You can email us at support@zztakeoff.com and either attach the .SwiftJob file directly if it's small enough, or send us a Dropbox/Drive link. Thank you!

Not a problem. I will send you a link to the job in Dropbox.

Hey Justin, we tested the PS job on our end, and it imported correctly. This project was likely imported before a patch we released a few weeks ago that fixed a similar issue.

Could you let us know if this issue happens for any new PS imports?

I’ll check it out the next time I need to bring one in.

Thanks!
