Hide/Unhide Notes

Thanks for the input. We're trying to think of the best way to go about this. We currently have a "Show All" and "Hide All" on the "..." menu for the page, but we realize this is not ideal. We welcome any input for how the UI would look for this. We want to give as many options as possible, but also trying to keep it simple.

Instead of crowding up the toolbar with a bunch of show/hide buttons like other software, you could add something as simple as:

Right clicking on the notes/arrow/cloud icons up in the toolbar = hide/unhide all of those object types (on the current page the user is viewing).

When those objects are hidden, the icon for that object type will lose its color and turn gray to indicate it's been hidden, and another right click will turn them back on and restore color to the icon.

And if there are notes/objects you want always visible while everything else of that type is hidden, you can go over to that specific object, right click it and set a 'don't hide/keep visible' type status to it, or add a little icon to do this right here next to the delete garbage can icon

The only issue with this idea is if a user accidentally right clicks instead of left clicks the icons up top and doesn't know why all their notes/arrows just disappeared.

Perhaps have a prompt come up the first couple times they do it so that they are aware they're about to hide all of those objects

If you don't like the right click idea, there's always the "long press" option which is compatible with mobile devices too.

Thanks for the input. The explanation and pictures are helpful. We'll discuss internally as well. We are working our best to keep the UI as clean and simple as possible, yet with all the options needed. It's a puzzle to accomplish both at the same time for sure, but one we are determined to solve.

Yes, the latest update has partially addressed this functionality, though not exactly as suggested in the original request. Here's what's currently available:

1. Page-Level Show/Hide:

• You can now right-click directly on the page to access "Show All" and "Hide All" options
• This affects all items on the page

2. Individual Item Control:

• After selecting items, you can use the new right-click menu to access a "Hide" option
• This allows for hiding specific selected items

However, the specific suggestions from you regarding:

• Right-clicking toolbar icons to toggle visibility of specific object types
• Greyed-out icons to indicate hidden status
• "Don't hide/keep visible" status for specific objects
• Long-press option for mobile devices

These more granular controls haven't been implemented yet and remain under review.
